Be a genuine Disciple

God is still true to his words, even if you do not hear him know that he is still with you. Just hold on to your faith and trust him completely. Wait on God, his timing is sure. Wait for his best for you he is coming with the answer. Live a good life and be a genuine disciple.

Be a true Christian, even behind closed doors and in the public. Don’t be a hypocrite and put on a show for all to see when you are in the spotlight, but ungodly when no one is looking. Be a genuine disciple, show your true colors, let them be bright and glowing with the fruit of the spirit.

Defends belief in Christ

Stand up for what you believe. Don’t fall for everything. Stand on the word of God, despite what is happening around you, know the God you serve. He is the one true God, and we should not bow down to any other God. These days many of us have compromise our Christianity and put people and things above our God. We allow money, jobs, friend, social media to be our idols. Spending too much of our time with these, and neglecting God and the things of God.

Love God and others

God is love, he loves the world so much that he gave his only begotten for the sins of mankind. God is not partial he loves everyone with the same love. Whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. (See John 3:16). We the sinful descendants of Adam were unworthy of forgiveness but God chooses to forgive us anyway and gave Jesus. He who knew no sin to become sin for us so we might have eternal life. It’s only by his grace and his mercy that we are saved. He could have chosen to wipe us out off the face of the earth because he owed us nothing. But he decided to put on flesh and come down to earth.

Unconditioned love

Now we do not need to make a blood sacrifice like in the olden days. The blood of animals could not wash away sins forever. So Jesus shed his blood once and for all for the atonement of sin. Now all that we need to do is to accept his forgiveness, believe and cry to God for mercy for our sins. What a loving God we serve.

Now he is exalted to the highest place and at the name of Jesus every knee must bow and confess that he is lord. “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”( Matthew 22:37 KJV). Be willing to consider the needs of others and assist wherever you can.

Read and meditate on the word

Read the Bible daily and meditate on the word of God. The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth and give you interpretation. Find a word for your specific situation and use it to wage war against the enemy of your soul. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path,”( Psalms 119:105 KJV) His word will guide you through the problems of life and he will calm the storm.

Walk-in faith

A committed disciple walks by faith and not by sight, (See 2 Corinthians 5:7). If we look at what is happening in the physical we might get frustrated and discourage. It is not easy but his grace is sufficient to keep you. Hold on to his strong arms, he will lead you through the wilderness.

These cares of life will not kill you, you will rise again, you will smile again. You will laugh hearty laughter from your heart. Because the God who knows how to triumph is restoring the years that the locust and the worms have stolen.

Seek after the things of God and the Holy Spirit

Leave sin, leave evil and run to God for redemption. Look to God and ask him to fill you with the Holy Spirit. Do not be afraid to stand up for God and defend your beliefs. Be proud of who your God is and who you are in him. Seek God for the fruit of the spirit. Seek him for more of his glory, spirit, and power.

Read my new book Calm the Storm.

Feast on the fruit of the spirit

How can you be a child of God and not exhibit his character? We have to know him by walking closely with him every day. Spend time in his presence and you will be more like him. Feast on the fruit of the spirit. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” (Galatians 5:22 KJV). “Meekness, temperance: against such, there is no law.”( Galatians 5:23 KJV). Fast, pray, and seek his face daily.

Stand with unshakeable faith

Stand firm, believe that God is able. Say like the three Hebrew boys, even if he doesn’t we still will not bow down and worship your idols. Whatever you are facing in your life will not conqueror you. Believe that the God you serve is more than able to deliver you from all them that rise up against you. When you know your God you know that he is unshakeable and immovable, he is able. Look to the one who can solve the problem.

Don’t give in to the devices of the enemy know that God is able. The God of Abraham, Isacc, and Jacob is the God who will deliver you from the hands of the enemy. Trust him today. You need to remain unshakeable in your faith even when the storm is rising. Wait on God and trust him to come through for you.

Whatever is blocking your way must move. You might have great aspirations but your destiny seemed paralyzed and at a standstill. You have the vision to succeed but you just don’t seem to be able to find your way. Cry out to God, look to him that is where your help comes from, he will help you to be a genuine disciple. He is the one who can break the chains and deliver you from the bondage and forces that are blocking your destiny.

Will not bow to idols

You might be bound and in the fiery furnace but God is with you. He will show up for you as the fourth man in the fire. He will lose every bond and set you free. The fire will not burn you, neither will there be no smell of smoke on you. God is showing up and setting you free today. “If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”( John 8:36 KJV).

God will move you to your destiny and take away all the things that are restricting you. What the enemy meant for evil he will turn it around for your good. People might be wondering why you are still smiling and praising even though you have been through the wilderness, the storm, and the fire. Tell them it’s only the grace of God. You did not fall under the pressure but you are still standing. You will not bow to any idol, stand firm and be a genuine disciple.

God will never leave you nor forsake you. “As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even forever.”( Psalms 125:2 KJV).

God is working in your life to do great and mighty things. He will pull you out of the pit that they have put you in. Trust him today. God will fight and defend you if you stand firm in your belief.

Evangelize for Christ

Every believer should evangelize for Christ. This doesn’t necessarily mean standing up and preaching, but just tell others about Christ. There are many different ways of evangelizing, start with the people you know, tell them about Christ, in your home at work, on your Facebook and Instagram page, and on your Youtube channel.

Write about him in your blog. Share the links to anointed sermons. So many ways we need to get the gospel out to the lost souls. Let people see Jesus in the life you live. Live holy, love others, give of yourself and be a genuine disciple. If you love him you want others to know him and live for him. Spread the good news don’t be afraid. God will reward you.

Prayer to be a genuine disciple

Dear heavenly Father, I come to you in Jesus’ name. Father, I want to be more like you, sometimes I fail and fall short of your glory but God I know you will never leave me nor forsake me. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins. Father please wash me in the blood of Jesus and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Father let my life lead others to you. Let me not be afraid to show others the way to you through the blood of Jesus. Father, please give me the courage and strength to live for you and do what’s right in your sight. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
