PRAYERS

Prayer is a means of communicating with God. Prayer is not just asking God for things but is about having a conversation with God. Prayer can be formal or informal. We shouldn’t wait until we go to church to pray. We can pray in our car, on the bus, or while doing our morning run. We do not need to go to any one place to pray. Prayer helps to develop a strong spiritual relationship with God.

God listens when we pray. He hears us and will answer and grant the desires of our hearts. Pray and seek his face today. Here are two common prayers from the bible:

The Lords Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13)

“After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, for ever, Amen.

The Prayer of Jabez (1 Chronicles 4:10)

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,

Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast,

and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil,

that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”
