The blessing of Abraham

The gift of faith and the great blessings comes upon us because of the promise that God made to Abraham. Because of the blood of Jesus, these blessings are available to all by faith.

“That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”(Galatians 3:14 KJV).

You are the seed of Abraham and therefore the blessings belong to you.

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:” (Genesis 12:1 KJV).

We see here, that to get the blessing Abraham had to trust God and move out. Sometimes God is calling us to move to where he wants us to be. But we refuse to be obedient. Instead, we just stay in our comfort zone, because of fear of the unknown. It takes faith to get to the place of blessing.

Abraham trusted God and did as he commanded. We are his children and should also listen for the voice of God, and be willing and obedient to follow him. God will lead us to the place that he wants us to be. He is the good shepherd and only wants to lead us to green pastures.

Trust in the Lord

Put your trust in the lord. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5 KJV). “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”(Proverbs 3:6 KJV).

What is God’s calling for your life? This might be the number one question on your mind right now. The good shepherds will guide you to your destiny and your divine calling. You might fear that you are not on the right path. But God is the author and the finisher, so seek him to find his perfect will for your life.

He says in Jeremiah 29:11 that his thought towards us are of peace and not of evil to give us an expected end. Focus on God and live a life that is pleasing in his sight. Live according to the commandments in the bible. Treat others right and love with the love of Christ. God’s words will lead you to his goodness.

Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit

We just need to follow the leading of the Holy Ghost. He is our guide in this dark world. Trust him, he knows the father’s will. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Romans 8:14 KJV). Make time for God, it is never easy with the many distractions that are coming from all directions. Nevertheless, we must find time to spend with God in prayer and fasting.

This will bring us closer to God. The closer we get the more we will be able to learn his ways and receive instruction about what direction to take. Use the gifts that God has given you to glorify him.  Know who you are in Christ? Read his words and learn what he says about you. Your purpose is to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all other things will be added unto you. (See Matthew 6:33).

“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:” (Genesis 12:2 KJV).

The blood of Jesus makes salvation available for all. Also, we now have access to the promises of the covenant made with Abraham. God will supply all our needs according to his riches in Christ Jesus (See Philippians 4:19). Jesus wants us to enjoy a life of abundance and peace. He said, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”(John 10:10 KJV).

“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.”(Proverbs 10:22 KJV). We are blessed to be a blessing to others. To give generously to the poor and less fortunate. Give to spread the gospel to all the nations of the world. And let your light shine so people can come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3 KJV).

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree “That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”(Galatians 3:13-14 KJV).

The blood of Jesus redeems us from the curse of the law, we now have access to the blessings of Abraham found in Deuteronomy 28 1:14.  We are blessed to be a blessing and we will receive our reward from God. It will come back to us good measure pressing down and running over. (See Luke 6:38 KJV).

The blessings are available to us, but we have to be obedient and walk in all the ways that God commanded so we can receive. If we live right and do his will then God will pour these blessings out on us.

Know your identity in Christ

You are who God says you are, blessed and highly favored. It doesn’t matter what your circumstances look like now, the word of God will always remain true. Jesus paid the price so you are a winner. Your blessings are waiting to be manifested. Poverty is not your portion, the blessings of Abraham will follow you.

God has already paved the way for you to have all that Jesus died for. So why should you not have it all? Believe him for a change in your situation, let the backwardness and the darkness in your life leave in Jesus’ name. Remember his promise, “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;”(Genesis 22:17 KJV).

Don’t believe the lies spoken against you that have held you back in life. Only believe the words of God, you are Abraham’s seed, blessed to be a blessing. Favor and prosperity are yours today. Don’t limit yourself or your God. Believe him that, he will supply your needs and do exceedingly above all you could ever ask or think (See Ephesians 3:20).

Receive the blessing

The blessing is already pronounced on you, you just need to decree and declare them over your life and obey the Lord thy God. Receive the covenant blessings they are your inheritance. Push ahead to take what belongs to you. His plans for you are of good and not evil to give you an expected end. Let God’s blessings rest upon you now and forever.

God will open his heavens over you and give you a mighty unexpected blessing. Blessed in the city, and blessed in the field. Blessed shall be thy basket and store. (See Deuteronomy 28:1-14).

You will have everything that God promised, just trust and have faith in his words. Let God’s mercy, peace, and grace follow you all the days of your life.

The Blessing:

I will make of thee a great nation

I will bless you

I will make thy name great

You will be a blessing

I will bless them that bless you

I will curse him that curses you

All people will be blessed through you

Speak words of life and blessings over yourself, your children, and your family. No curse remains, they are all broken in Jesus’ name. Do not allow your circumstances to limit your greatness. “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” (Deuteronomy 8:18 KJV).

Use what you have. What is that you have in your hand? What do you have available? Give it to God he will multiply it to more than enough. You are blessed.

“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:”

“The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:”

“The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”

Numbers 6:24-26
